Advantages and disadvantages of spot welder

Resistance welding has the following advantages:

3. Do not need filler metal such as welding rod and wire, as well as welding materials such as oxygen, acetylene and argon, and low welding cost.

4. Simple operation, easy to realize mechanization and automation, and improve labor conditions.

5. High productivity and no noise and harmful gases. In mass production, the assembly line can be woven together with other manufacturing processes, but flash butt welding is required to be isolated because of sparks.

Resistance welding has the following disadvantages:

1. Lack of reliable non-destructive testing methods, the welding quality can only be checked by the destructive testing of process samples and welding parts, as well as by various monitoring technologies.

2. The joints of joints and joints not only increase the weight of the components, but also cause the tension strength and fatigue strength of the joints due to the Angle between the two plates.

3. High power, mechanization and automation of equipment, which increases the cost of equipment. Maintenance is difficult, and the common high-power single-phase ac welding machine is not conducive to the normal operation of the power network, and needs to be distributed separately.

The main resistance welding methods are spot welding, seam welding, convex welding and butt welding.
