What Is The Difference Between Resistance Welding And Spot Welding Machine?
Nov 16, 2018

What is the difference between resistance welding and spot welding machine? 1. The characteristics and application of resistance welding. Resistance welding is the main welding method of pressure welding. Resistance welding is a kind of welding method, which combines welding parts, exerts pressure through electrodes, and utilizes the resistance heat generated by current passing through the contact surface and adjacent area of the joint. The main characteristics of resistance welding are: low welding voltage (1-12V), high welding current (tens to thousands of amperes), short welding time (0.01-several seconds), high productivity; mechanical pressure is applied to the joint when heating, and the joint is welded under pressure; welding time is not needed when welding. Fill metal. Resistance welding is widely used, especially in the automotive and aircraft manufacturing industry. For example, there are as many as millions of solder joints on new airliners. Resistance welding is applied to aerospace vehicles, semiconductor devices and integrated circuit components. Therefore, resistance welding is one of the most important methods of welding. Resistance welding is divided into spot welding, seam welding and butt welding according to different process methods. Only spot welding is introduced here. 2. Spot welding is a method of resistance welding in which the weldments are assembled and pressed between the two electrodes, and the base metal is melted by resistance heat to form a welding joint. Spot welding is mostly used for the connection of thin plates, such as aircraft skin, aeroengine smoke canister, automobile cab housing, etc. (1) The main components of spot welding machine include frame, welding transformer, electrode and electrode arm, pressure mechanism and cooling water circuit. The welding transformer is a spot welding electrical appliance. Its secondary part has only one loop. The upper and lower electrodes and the electrode arm are used for both conducting welding current and transmitting power. Cooling water passes through transformers, electrodes and other parts, so as to avoid heating and welding, cooling water should be connected first, and then power switch should be connected. The quality of electrodes directly affects the welding process, welding quality and productivity. Electrode materials are usually made of copper, cadmium bronze, chromium bronze, etc. The shapes of the electrodes are various, which are mainly determined by the shape of the welding parts. When installing the electrodes, attention should be paid to keeping the surface of the upper and lower electrodes parallel; the surface of the electrodes should be kept clean, and the surface of the electrodes should be trimmed with sand cloth or file. (2) Spot welding process(2) Spot welding process_Spot welding process is as follows: opening cooling water; cleaning the surface of welded parts and accurately assembling them, feeding them into the upper and lower electrodes, applying pressure to make them in good contact; heating the contact surface of two workpieces by electrification, local melting, forming a nugget; keeping pressure after power failure, making the nugget under pressure The solder joints are formed by cooling and solidification, and the workpiece is removed after removing the pressure. The welding parameters such as welding current, electrode pressure, electrification time and electrode working surface size have a great impact on the welding quality.
